When William Wilberforce said, “We are too young to realize that certain things are impossible … so we will do them, anyway.” he must have had someone like Patrick Rukundo in mind. A straight “A” student from Dunbar High School in Dayton, Ohio, Patrick received a full ride golf scholarship to Wilberforce University, named after William Wilberforce, the great 18th-century abolitionist, located near Dayton. Patrick was offered and accepted a full ride scholarship to play on the new Wilberforce golf team. There was only one small challenge that Patrick had to overcome; since he had never played golf before, he had to teach himself how to play. Read how he embraced the challenge and stuck with it.
