The life of Lauren Lovette, choreographer and principal dancer, demonstrates what can happen when an individual consistently steps outside his/her comfort zone. Growing up she was afraid of water, heights, sleepovers and any game because she felt she would be bad at it. Taking her first ballet class was the first time she really stepped out of her comfort zone.

She left home at the age of 14 to study ballet full-time. She made a promise to herself: whenever there was a sign-up sheet, no matter what it was for, no matter if she stood a chance of being picked, she’d put her name on it. “Even if you didn’t know if you could do it, just go for it, and kind of leave it up to the universe. So, I forced myself to sign up for things,” said Lovette.

Read how the promise to put her name on sign-up sheets allowed her to develop a Growth Mindset. That Growth Mindset eventually transformed an insecure young girl to be center stage and perform in front of thousands of adoring fans.
